The Chankya Law College, imparts education for the Five - Year Law Course after 10+2. Chankya Law College is also one of the first colleges to start legal education in its true sense in this Kumaun region in Uttranchal. The college tries to impart fine and sound legal knowledge It is affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttaranchal. The college is approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. The college is open to all irrespective of sex, age, caste, creed and religion. Faculty and students are drawn from all over India and purely on merit basis.The college has well equipped, adequate and well furnished infrastructure. In addition to well furnished classrooms. The college has good library facility which is equipped with all the latest books on law, text books, legal reports, journals, magazines etc. It provides Internet facility to the students. Apart from the regular faculty, guest faculty who are practicing lawyers are engaged extensively to impart practical oriented knowledge. The teaching learning process is not only rigorous but also participative. The students are trained by giving practical training and assignment like visit to the court, journal work, moot court competitions, etc. With a view to making the students passing out from this college to be the efficient and dedicated lawyers, seminars, panel discussions and professional ethic oriented practical are offered at this college. Visits are arranged to Supreme Court, High Court, District Court and Family Court as a part of public interest of lawyering and legal aid.

Eligibility
1) 3 year Law Degree Course - A candidate who has graduated in any discipline from a recognized University can appear for L.L.B. course
2) Integrated Degree Program - Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or an exam cosidered to be equivalnt to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam can enrol for integrated degree program (LLB and a first degree in any other subject).
Candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree after taking up other courses through distance mode are also considered eligible for integrated degree course. But those candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree through distance mode or from open universities without any basic qualification are not eligible for admission into law courses.
Minimum marks for admission into law courses -
1) 40% for SC/ST candidates
2) 45% for other candidates
