The Himgiri Zee University is a private university providing various Engineering, Medical and Management courses. Established in 2003 with the motto as “World as Family”, the University aims at providing quality education along with the sole-aspect that world is our family.
HZU was established by the provision of Act No. 17 of 2003 of the State Legislative Assembly, Government of Uttaranchal.
The library is enriched with over than 30,000 books, 4000 titles and a number of journals and reports that cover almost all subjects.
Transport facilities are available for faculties and day-scholars. Separate hostels are provided to boys and girls with a capacity of over 350 students. The campus is full WiFi enabled. There are spacious guests’ rooms for guest.
The campus had sports complexes and grounds for sports like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Table Tennis and many more. Also, there is a swimming pool of 12 x 25 meters with trainers to teach students, swimming.

How to Apply?
The application forms and prospectus can be obtained from the University office by paying Rs.1000/- through DD drawn in favour of Himgiri Zee University, payable at Dehradun, or can be purchased by paying cash at one of the Punjab National Bank branches, Dehradun.
Applicants can also pay using credit/debit card and fill the online form.
The completed form should be enclosed /uploaded with the below set of documents:
- 10+2 Marksheets
- Semester Marksheets (For PG)
- Transfer Certificate
- Birth Certificate
- Conduct Certificate
- 2 Passport size photographs
- Medical Fitness Certificate
- Caste Certificate (If applicable)
- Anti ragging affidavit (students and parents) on Rs.10/- stamp paper attested by Oath commissioner/Notary

Campus Facilities
Himgiri Zee University is a private university located in Dehradun. The campus is spaciously built with modern up to date infrastructure. The campus provides an elaborative library with digital resources, transportation facilities for students and teachers alike, a cafeteria, a swimming pool,a guest house, a dispensary with qualified 24 hours available doctor and a state of the art infrastructure for indoor as well as outdoor sports activities.
Hostel
Separate hostels for girls and boys are available on the university campus. Around 350 students can be accommodated at once in these hostels. Rooms with single and triple occupancy are available. The hostel has in place laundry and TV room facility. Each student is provided with a cot, chair, table, and cupboard without any extra charges.
Student Activity
To enhance the overall development of students varied clubs are available. These are photography club, cultural club, and literary club. Many events are held annually by these societies.

Eligibility
1) 3 year Law Degree Course - A candidate who has graduated in any discipline from a recognized University can appear for L.L.B. course
2) Integrated Degree Program - Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or an exam cosidered to be equivalnt to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam can enrol for integrated degree program (LLB and a first degree in any other subject).
Candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree after taking up other courses through distance mode are also considered eligible for integrated degree course. But those candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree through distance mode or from open universities without any basic qualification are not eligible for admission into law courses.
Minimum marks for admission into law courses -
1) 40% for SC/ST candidates
2) 45% for other candidates
Remarks
The only major problem with the University is that it lacks coordination with different managements. There is a huge communication gap between different managements of same course.
Entrance Exam
I only gave btech because I wanted to get into btech program. Based on my score I had to to appear for an interview. Then, I was selected based on my performance in interview.
Fees
University’s fee structure is quite high but it is worth paying as per the infrastructure of the university. Fee may vary for different programs. Fee is obviously high because it is a private university. Students can pay fee online at the portal of the University or they can pay it offline on a fee center.
Placements
This University have their criteria for placements. Placements are not so good here too. To appear for an interview, a student has to study hard. It is very hard for an average student to get a placement through this college. He/she has to be an excellent student to sit in an interview.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel buildings have good infrastructure with various facilities provided in it. Hostel rooms are neat and clean. Hostel food is quite average. It is better for a student to live in a PG and cook his/her own food. The rate of the pg depends on the located and varies from Rs 5k to 15k permonth.
Alumni
Yes, the University helps students connect to their old friends by reaching to them via the Alumni Portal. Students can get to know about their jobs and even they cab post a job vacancy if needed. Students can also share their experience with their old friends and other people. Their Alumni portal is really good. They can also get in touch with seniors who can guide them through the outside journey of their life after completion of students’ degree/program.
Faculty
Faculty here is highly qualified. One can check their qualification on the site . All the details are given over there. Faculties are experienced and have deep knowledge about their subject that they are teaching. Students will not be in a problem if they want to learn in depth about their interesting subject.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is almost equal in the University. Different kinds of people from different countries are here in the campus. The University is most preferable by international students recently. Students also get the chance to know about different cultures and activities. They can find people of every race here. Sports and extra-curricular events are organized every month. There are monthly workshops organized. Students can also take parts in various events organized by the university.Many cultural activities of different countries are celebrated here. Freshers’ Party, painting Competitions, DJ nights for hostellers, sports day, teachers’ day, and many other events are celebrated here in this university.
Academics
Exam is very easy to understand. But it differs from program to program. So, a student has to ask their concerned department for its exam structure. Externals/practicals are also very crucial in promoting to next semester/year. So a student should always try to score well in these tests. Mini and minor projects are also conducted in the examination schemes. The course is very wide and students need to learn everything. Doing this is really helpful to students to get success in their subject during their exams. It would help them solve various problems easily. The course curriculum is according to the UGC guidelines and students should have proper knowledge about it
Internships
Yes, this college provides internships but they also have a selection criteria because of limited seats. Most of the internships are within campus. It is considered better for students to find internships outside campus by appearing in different interview themselves.
Loans and Scholarships
Yes, the Unioversity offers scholarships. Scholarships are given on the basis of academics as well as sports. Like National players are given 50% scholarships in the tuition fee, also the players who represent the University at zonal or national level and secure good positions are given up to 75% scholarships in the tuition fee.
