Bengal College Of Engineering and Technology for Women is now known by the name Bengal College of Engineering. It was established in the year 2009. It has been affiliated to MAKAUT (Formerly WBUT), Kolkata. All the courses offered at the institute are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The campus is built in lush green and calm surroundings with state of the art infrastructure and provides a well established and healthy atmosphere to all the students.
The institute has been recently upgraded from Bengal College of Engineering and Technology for Women to Bengal College of Engineering. Various courses provided by the institute include Under- Graduate courses (UG), Post Graduate courses (PG).
The departments offering varied sources and instituted in this college are as listed-
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Computer Science & Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
All these courses have a total intake of 220 students and the admission to all its courses is done through Joint admission entrance examination (JEE) and Bengal entrance examination.
The merit list is formed according to the ranks of respective students and the further seat is allowed in accordance with the merit formed, Various other facilities provided on campus also add up to the innovation and effectiveness of varied courses.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
The college has on campus separate hostels for both boys and girls. There are 2 hostels for boys and 2 for the girls. The Kalpana Chawla Girls’ Hostel can accommodate 402 girls whereas the Shakuntala Devi Girls’ Hostel can accommodate 404 girls.
The Vikram Sarabhai Boys’ Hostel can accommodate 664 boys and the Homi J Bhava Boys’ Hostel can accommodate 178 boys.
The hostels are well furnished with 24*7 internet connection, RO mineral water, vegetarian meals and round the clock security.
