Founded by Dr. Ashok Chitkara and Dr. Madhu Chitkara in year 2010, Chitkara University is located in Rajpura Punjab and is one of the leading universities in the state. It is a private university approved by UGC, NAAC, Indian Nursing Council and NCHMCT. With its strong focus on excellence in education, the university attracts a large number of foreign students every year. The university has two campuses – one in Punjab and the other one in Himachal Pradesh.

The university offers under-graduate, post-graduate and doctoral programs in various disciplines like Engineering, Business, Nursing, Hospitality and Hotel management, Journalism and mass communication. The admission process entirely online. The university accepts scores of exams like JEE, GATE, CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT and NATA for admission into engineering, management courses.

Application and Admission Procedure

Interested candidates can avail the application form from the official website or download the form or can obtain it from the campus / University office. Payment of Rs.1100/- can be made through online, in person or by drawing demand draft in favour of Chitkara University, payable at Chandigarh.

The form should be duly filled in with all details and submitted along with copies of:

• 10+2 marksheets
• Graduation marksheets (for PG)
• Aadhar card
• Rank card of the qualifying entrance test
• Medical fitness certificate
• Character certificate(available on the website)
• Transfer certificate

Admissions into the Engineering undergraduate courses selects students based on their JEE-Mains score while for the rest of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, students are selected based on a personal interview round. MBA selections require score of MAT / XAT / CMAT / CAT / NMAT or the Chitkara University Test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.

Hostel and Facilities

Hostel

The Chitkara residence has separate girls and boys hostel. There are wardens and tight security made available at these hostels in order to provide a pleasant stay so that students can focus on their academics. Hostel common rooms are equipped with TV, indoor games and other recreational facilities. Internet and STD facilities are also available.

Medical Facilities

The university works in tie with hospitals in case of emergency situation and provide comprehensive medical insurance to its students.

Other Facilities

The campus has cafeteria whose menu is designed by dieticians and offer a nutritious- wholesome meals. Mid night snacks are also available.

There are two banks; Punjab National Bank (PNB) and UCO Bank with ATM within the campus.

The University has a collection of over 58,000 books, journals, audio-visuals, CD-ROMs etc. It also has video conferencing facility.

Besides this, the students can avail the library facilities, computing facilities and high-tech laboratories having equipment’s with calibrations to ISO 9001- 2000 Certifications.
