All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur (AIIMS Raipur) was founded in 2012. It is designated as an Institute of National Importance. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Government of India established institute. The campus covers 103.63 acres. The hospital and college complex occupies 63.85 acres while the residential complex covers 39.78 acres.

The institute functions as a public medical college and a public university focused on medical research. AIIMS Raipur operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

AIIMS Raipur offers multiple courses including undergraduate, postgraduate, super-speciality and doctoral programs. Flagship program is Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The institute also offers paramedical and certificate programs.

AIIMS Raipur has an academic staff of 142 and a total student body of 660. This includes 500 undergraduate students and 160 postgraduate students. It provides a modern gym a well-stocked library and separate hostels for boys and girls.

For course admissions AIIMS Raipur accepts NEET scores for its MBBS program. For postgraduate programs it accepts scores from Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET). National Medical Commission (NMC) and University Grants Commission (UGC) approve institute. AIIMS Raipur operates under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY).

In rankings, AIIMS Raipur was ranked 28th out of 57 colleges by India Today in 2023. The Week ranked it 22nd out of 36 colleges in 2022. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) placed it 39th out of 50 colleges in 2023.

AIIMS Raipur reported a placement program in 2023. It placed 70 students from many postgraduate courses like MD, MS and MDS. Median package for these students was INR 16 LPA.
