Central University Of Kerala (CUK) Kasaragod

The Central University of Kerala was established by the Indian Parliament under The Central Universities Act, 2009. The university is situated in Kasaragod, Kerala and the main campus of the university is located at Periya.

 The University has also opened two Centers:

• The Capital Centre at Thiruvananthapuram which offers Integrated BA and MA Programs in International Relations
• The second is Law Campus at Thiruvalla.

The University was constructed with a noble vision of ‘caring wisdom’. This vision is guided by good academic ideals, activities that enlighten social services and a lot of hard work.

As the University is located in the capital city of Kerala, it has a diverse, rich and beautiful culture. And the University abides by the culture in all the activities it conducts in the field of social, art, human and intellectual culture.

Admissions to all the courses in the University are given by Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET).

The courses offered in the University follow Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) pattern. Students are offered two types of courses:

• Core courses, which are identified by all departments.
• Elective courses, chosen by the students and they study under advised faculty.

Central University of Kerala offers various UG, PG and Ph.D. Programs in the fields of Science, Arts, International Relations, Social Work, English, Education and Legal studies.

Application and Admission Procedure

How to Apply

The admission to this university is done through Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). To register for this exam, online mode of application is available on the official website of CUCET.

Check your eligibility criterion. Keep the photography and signature ready should as per the digital requirements mentioned in the advertisement issued. Register as a new candidate and fill in the personal, academic and professional details along with a valid email ID.

Payment can be done through net banking or bank challan. Fees to be paid is Rs.800 for general and OBC candidate, Rs.350 for SC and ST and no fee is a charge for PWD category candidates. Bank challan payment takes around 3-4 days for the receipt of payment so candidate must submit the fee offline well before the last date of application.

Admission Procedure

After the exam is taken by the candidate, results will be announced in due course of time. The merit list displayed on the official website will form the basis of admission into 10 central universities.

Candidates can fill in the preferences of universities and seats are allocated on merit basis on the day of counseling. Students can confirm their seats by paying the required fees by visiting the university assigned.

Hostel and Facilities

Campus Facilities

The Central University of Kerala has situated in Periye region of the state Kerala and has a sprawling campus on 310 acres of land. The university has a separate building for various departments available.

Campus constitutes of the well-stocked library, linguistic labs, workshops and computer labs. Other facilities include transportation facility, canteen, dispensary, a student counselling center and sports complex with the option of both indoor as well as outdoor games.

Hostel Facility

Separate hostels for boys and girls are available. There are 2 hostels for boys and 2 for girls which can accommodate around 100 students.

However limited rooms are available, so they are allowed on merit basis. Hostel facilitates sharing basis mess, recreational room, sports arena and a computer room.

Student activity

This campus runs a specialised programme for providing its students with civil services examination coaching. Other clubs include innnovation club and cultural club.
