Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) is a state public university located in Guwahati. University was established in 2009. It is sole health university in North Eastern Region of India. SSUHS is recognized by UGC.

SSUHS aims to provide education in health sciences. It offers approximately 90 courses through its affiliated colleges. Undergraduate courses include MBBS, BSc Nursing, BPharm, BSc Medical Technology, BAMS and BHMS. Its flagship course is MBBS. The university also offers many postgraduate and super speciality medical courses, as well as courses in nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, Ayurved and paramedical fields.

Admission to SSUHS is selective and based on entrance examinations. Admission to MBBS program relies on NEET UG scores. BAMS, BHMS, BSc Nursing, BPharm, Pharm.D and DPharm admissions require passing the university's Common Entrance Examination (CEE). For MD and MS programs, NEET PG scores are necessary, followed by counselling.

SSUHS provides different services, including a library, new buildings, laboratories and a sports complex. The facilities include tennis courts, a synthetic athletic field and a modern auditorium. It ensures 100 percent accommodation for students with single-seater rooms.

SSUHS ranked 14th out of 16 universities in Assam according to Edurank. It is placed at 587th among 876 colleges in India by Edurank. 

Placements - Approximately 80% of students participate in campus placements. Average salary for undergraduate courses ranges between INR 3,00,000 and INR 4,20,000 per annum. For postgraduate courses it ranges from INR 3,60,000 to INR 6,00,000 per annum.
