Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering was established in 1948 in Central Ahmedabad. It is affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University and is approved by the AICTE.

The college was constructed with the donation by Sheth Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai, aTextile industrialist. The college wishes to impart the best education in the field of Engineering by development of beneficent Technological and Engineering marvels for the service of individual and society.

The campus is well equipped with all the basic and required amenities such as hostels, canteens, post office, gym, computer centre, library and more. Apart from full time undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering the college also runs part time Post Diploma courses in Engineering.

Hostel facitlies

The institute has hostel facilties to accommodate around 787 students. There are four messes in the campus which are managed by the students themselves. There is a library in the hostel which is well stacked with books and journals. There are various entertainemnt fcilties like TV room, badminton room, gymnasium in the hostels. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostel is administered by a rector and four wardens. There are new E.PABX system installed with 80 telephones for better communications. The hostel rooms are well equipped with beds, tables, chairs & cupboards. The rules and regulations made by the hostel authorities needs to be followed by the students to avoid fines and penalties.

Other facitlies

There are first aid facilites, transport facilties, common mess for the residential students, food, cafeteria, and so on for the students. The are smart classrooms, well furnsihed infrastructure, conference rooms, an auditorium, and the medical room, cultural activities and the academics like economics club, eco club, cultural club, debate club, HR club, etc., A/C, wide library.
