Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition (NCHMCT) Meerut, was established in 1987 as an autonomous body and is registered as an Educational Society under the Societies Act of 1860. It is a private institution, affiliated to Indira Gandhi National Open University as well as APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. It has been duly approved by the AICTE and the MHRD.
At the undergraduate level, the Institute offers 3 courses: a Bachelor in Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), a B. Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (B. Sc. HHA), and a Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology (DHMCT).
The Institute is located on a 12.5-acre campus on National Highway 58 (Delhi-Dehradun Road), and has properly laid out separate blocks with approximately 2.25 lacs sq.ft. of covered area, including an academic block, laboratories with modern equipment, an administrative block, two restaurants, separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, an auditorium, staff quarters, a guest house, as well as play grounds and other facilities.
The admission into UG programs is on the basis of merit marks scored in Class 12th, as well as scoring/placement on entrance exams such as the NCHMCT-JEE exam.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
IHM Meerut has separate hostel accommodations for boys and girls. The hostels are off-campus. First year students have options of double/triple occupancy rooms. Hostel rooms come equipped with single beds, study table with chair and a cupboard.
Students are provided with filtered cold water, generator and incoming telephone call facilities. There is a canteen in every hostel. The hostels have a recreational room with access to TV, DVD player, magazines and newspapers.
To ensure welfare of the students an Ex- Defense Officer is employed as warden of the hostels. All visitors are entertained in the visiting lounge and only during visiting hours.
