It was established in 1951-52 and is among oldest dental colleges in India. GDCH Mumbai is a government-run institute focused on dental education.
College is affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. GDCH Mumbai offers a five-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program as its flagship course. It also provides a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) with specializations like Endodontics and Periodontology. Other programs include Diploma, Ph.D. and Fellowship in Dentistry. The college has 125 seats for BDS and 50 seats for MDS.
