National Institute of Fashion technology, Chennai is a government institute established in the year 1995 under the affiliation of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It is an institution of design, management and technology for the international fashion business and was given the statutory status in 2006.
The institute offers 7 undergraduate programmes, 3 postgraduate programmes and a doctoral programme. It also has a research department.
The admission into the undergraduate programmes is based on GAT and CAT scores. For postgraduate programmes, it is based on an entrance exam conducted by NIFT.
