Situated in Mira Road, Mumbai, the N.L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research was established in 1995 under the aegis of N.L. Dalmia Educational Society and started its academic program in 1997. The institute offers two full time management courses- Masters of Management Studies (MMS) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM); three part time courses as well and a Doctorate Degree as well.

About the MMS Program

Spanning over 2 years and 4 semester, the Masters in Management studies Program offered at NIMSR is a full time program constituting 26 compulsory courses and 11 courses based on the electives opted by the students. The course is approved by AICTE and affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The electives offered are:

Eligibility

The applicant must have completed his/her graduation with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for reserved categories). Those awaiting the final results shall be granted provisional admission subject to attaining 50% aggregate (45%for reserved categories) in the exams. There is no age restriction for admission into the MMS program.

For application under the Maharashtra Seat, the candidate must qualify the guidelines stipulated by DTE (refer: http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/MBA2015/OasisModules_Files/Files/94.pdf?did=1384) , should be an Indian national and should have appeared for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET*.

For application under the all India seat, the applicant must be an Indian National and should have appeared for CAT/GMAT/CMAT/MATXAT/ATMA/MAH-MBA/MMS-CET*.

*The applicants must have secured non-zero positive marks in the exam they appeared for.

How to Apply

The aspirants can register for CET by applying at http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mba2015 and paying a registration fees of Rs.1,000 (Rs.800 for reserved categories and physically handicapped applicants belonging to Maharashtra).

Admission Procedure

The admission procedure is centralized and is in the hands of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). DTE usually follows the following process:

• Applicants are required to appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET).
• Selected candidates are called in for a Group Discussion round.
• Finally, the applicants go through a Personal Interview (PI).

DTE conducts 3 rounds of counseling (the third round being exclusively for eligible Maharashtra State Candidates).

*The centers are notified by DTE.

Cut off

For the year 2013-14, the cut off for CAP seats was 209 (177 for minority seats).

Fees Structure

The total Fees for pursuing the two year MMS Program at NIMSR is Rs.1,68,000 as decided by Shikshan Shulk Samiti. The break up is as follow:

Placements

NIMSR boasts of a 100% placement record. The placement activities at NIMSR are managed jointly by a team of teachers and a student placement committee. In the past, the institute has been visited by some of the biggest names in the corporate sector including Abbott, ICICI Bank, Crisil, Adani, Deutche Bank, Nielsen, Morgan Stanley, Zee TV, TATA Consultancy Services, HDFC Bank, CITI Bank, Canara Robeco, Sahara and so on.

The average package offered by these companies tends to be around Rs.9 lakhs per annum while the highest package secured has been Rs.10 lakhs per annum.

Campus Facilities

The institute boasts of a state of the art, fully air conditioned and technologically equipped classrooms and auditorium. The campus also houses a well-stocked library with over 33000 volumes and a computer lab with 120 terminals for the use of staff and students. The highlight of the campus is the Bloomberg Finance Lab, the first of its kind in Mumbai, equipped with 12 Bloomberg Terminals.
