Scholarships for Undergraduate Students

1. Adi Dravida Welfare Scholarship:

• Applicable to: Students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
• Expenses covered: Tuition fees, hostel fees, mess charges, book allowance and other expenses.
• Eligibility:
  • Annual income of parents or guardians should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
  • Passed the qualifying examination in the first attempt with at least 40% marks.
  • Not availing any other scholarship or stipend.

1. Central Government Scholarship:

• Applicable to: Students belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
• Expenses covered: Same as above.
• Eligibility:
  • Annual income of parents or guardians should not exceed Rs. 8 lakhs for OBC and EWS students and Rs. 2.5 lakhs for PwD students.
  • Passed the qualifying examination in the first attempt with at least 50% marks for OBC and EWS students and 40% marks for PwD students.
  • Not availing any other scholarship or stipend.

1. State Government Free Education:

• Applicable to: Students whose parents or guardians are not graduates.
• Expenses covered: Tuition fees only.
• Eligibility:
  • Annual income of parents or guardians should not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs.
  • Passed the qualifying examination in the first attempt with at least 40% marks.
  • Not availing any other scholarship or stipend.

1. Periyar Endowment Scholarships:

• Applicable to: Meritorious students based on academic performance in the previous semester.
• Amount: Ranges from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000 per month depending on course and rank.

Scholarships for Postgraduate Students

1. Fellowships and Scholarships from Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR):

• Applicable to: Students pursuing masters and doctoral degrees in agriculture and allied fields.
• Expenses covered: Tuition fees, hostel fees, mess charges, book allowance, contingency grant and other expenses.
• Eligibility:
  • Qualified the ICAR All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) for masters or doctoral degree.
  • Secured admission in TNAU or any other ICAR accredited institution.
  • Not availing any other fellowship or scholarship.

1. TNAU Merit Scholarships:

• Applicable to: Meritorious students based on academic performance in the previous semester.
• Amount: Ranges from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000 per month depending on course and rank.
