Tamilnadu Agricultural University (TNAU) Coimbatore

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Its primary focus is on agricultural education and research. It started in 1868 as an Agricultural School. TNAU is a government institute. 

TNAU is recognized by UGC and approved by AICTE. It is also recognized by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). TNAU offers 13 undergraduate programs, 40 graduate programs and 27 doctoral programs.

The university employs over 1200 scientists and teaching faculty. It accommodates over 1248 scholars annually across its 15 constituent colleges.

TNAU provides many student facilities, including accommodation, sports amenities, a cafeteria and an auditorium. There are separate hostels for boys and girls.

For native students of Tamil Nadu, the admission through counseling and they dont need to write any entrance test. But students from other states need to take an entrance exam organized by ICAR.

In rankings TNAU was placed 301-350 in Asia by QS World University Rankings 2023. It was ranked 1501+ globally by Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023. NIRF 2023 ranked it 93 overall and 72 among Indian universities.

TNAU has international collaborations with seven foreign universities and 26 national institutes. It has a dual degree program in partnership with Dalhousie University, Canada.

Placements - Approximately 60 companies participate in campus interviews each year. Around 450-500 graduates secure placements annually. The university also organizes a job fair that aids 300-350 students in finding jobs.
