Govt. College of Engineering, Aurangabad is an autonomous engineering college which started functioning in 1960. It has been affiliated with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technical University and all its courses are duly approved by AICTE.

In 2006, it had achieved its autonomous status and Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme Grant. Throughout the year, it organizes several national and international level competition. The motto of this institute is “In pursuit of Technical Excellence.”

This age-old institution is situated in Aurangabad and covers up quite a large area. The entire campus has WiFi enabled It has hostels, gym, library, well organized separate labs for different subjects, cafeteria etc.

This college offers MCA, BE in Civil engineering, mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering etc and ME in the Power system, Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunication, Information Technology etc.

For getting admission in this college one has score descent marks in MHCET, a state level entrance exam.

Hostel and Facilities

Hostel

The government college of engineering situated at Aurangabad provides hostel facility for boys and girls.

There are total three hostels. The hostel ‘A’ is for boys which can accommodate 264 students. The hostel ‘D'(Old Hostel) is for girls, which have the capacity to accommodate of 117 students.

The hostel ‘E’ (New Hostel) has the capacity to accommodate 216 girls; this hostel is for Post Graduation studying Girl’s. A new girl’s hostel is also being constructed. The hostel ‘C’ is for post graduate boys which have capacity of 125 and 28 students.

Campus Facilities

The institute has a huge library with all the current journals and books. There are separate reading rooms for faculty members and students.

The students can enjoy free Wi-Fi without any extra charges. A health care unit with doctor is present in the campus.

The canteen of the institute offers fresh Veg and Non-veg foods and snacks. Companies like IBM, Accentrik, TCS, Bajaj, L&T Infotech and Expert Global visits the campus for recruiting candidates.
