MIT School of Business (MITSOB) is an institute under the aegis of MAEER's MIT Group of Institutions and is located at Paud Road, Kothrud, in the prime area of Pune. It offers a 2 year PGDM degree and has adopted the case-study method of teaching.
How to apply?The application form is available on the website: http://www.mitsob.net/admissions.html. It can be done online or offline. For online application, Rs. 900 may be paid by using a debit card, credit card or via netbanking. For offline application, one can print the application form from the website and send the duly filled application form to the institute along with a demand draft of Rs 900/- favouring 'MIT School of Business', payable at Pune towards application fees. The application form should be attached with the copies of following documents: 10th, 12th and Graduation mark sheets (upto previous year if you are a final year student).
An application form can also be procured from the Institute’s office by a cash payment of Rs. 900 and duly submitted with all the relevant documents.
Candidates will be offered admission after a screening process which includes an extempore talk along with essay writing and a personal interview.
They will have to appear for the above along with a valid photo ID, 2 recent photographs, copies of the scorecard for one of the following exams (CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA/CMAT/CET)
Graduates from UGC recognized Universities with 50% marks are eligible to procure admission for the PGDM program. However, students in final year of graduation exams can also apply.
Campus Facilities (i.e. Infrastructure)The MIT Campus has all the state-of-the-art facilities like computer labs, libraries and spacious classrooms and is a 65 acre campus located in Paud Road, Kathrud in Pune. It has a capacity of catering to over a 1000 students.
HostelMIT-SOB offers a combined hostel facilities for boys and girls available at on the campus. The hostels are well equipped with all the necessary facilities. However, hostel accommodation is allotted strictly on the merit basis.
PlacementsThe Institute has a remarkable placement record with an extremely active placement cell. The major recruiters are Kirloskar Brothers , CITI BANK, Navis RX, Thomas International, HDFC Bank and Bisleri International.The percentage of students placed in 2012-13 were 65% and 84% of the students were placed in 2013-14. The average salary offered per annum was 4.10 lacks and the maximum salary offered was 8.67 lakhs. The campus has an extremely active student body that has formed a number of clubs like the Business Club, Rupantar Club, Phoenix Club, Vimarsh Club, Sports Club, Trekking Club snd Creativity & Culture Club. These clubs organise plenty of events on the campus through the year.
Important DatesThe allotted dates for the selection procedure are 11th April, 25th April,9th May and 23rd The candidate may also appear for the selection process at our campus on any other working day, besides the dates mentioned above, provided that they inform the institute a few days in advance by calling 9922487669 or 9922487671.
Fee StructureThe annual fee is Rs 2.75 lakhs and it is payable in installments. This amount includes the fee for the study material, a laptop and the uniform.

Eligibility
To pursue MBA at MIT-SOB students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Admission Procedure
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
