Walchand College of Engineering is an autonomous, government-aided institute located in Vishrambag, Sangli. It has provided education in engineering since 1947. Campus covers approximately 90 acres. The college was renamed in 1955 and is affiliated with Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

It began with a Civil Engineering undergraduate program and has since expanded its list of course offered.

The college offers six undergraduate programs in engineering, including Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science and Information Technology. Ten postgraduate programs are also available. The flagship program is the B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

Walchand College of Engineering enrolls 400+ students in undergraduate programs and 250+ in postgraduate programs.

College has many facilities. These include a library, hostels, an auditorium, a gym and canteen services. It also provides indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

Admissions depend on entrance exam scores. College accepts JEE Main for B.Tech and GATE for MTech Institute is approved by AICTE and accredited by NAAC. In the NIRF 2020 rankings, it is ranked 168th among engineering colleges in India.

Placements - Approximately 70 companies from different sectors visit the campus annually for recruitment.
