Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, named after the great son of India, Shaheed-e-Azam, Sardar Bhagat Singh, was established as a co-educational college in 1967 as a constituent college of University of Delhi. It acquired postgraduate status in record time of 9 years. The College takes pride in having an accomplished faculty. The college has a fully computerized library, computer labs, Geography lab, impressive infrastructure including big sports ground with cricket pitch, volley-ball court, basket-ball court, lawn tennis court etc.

The college functions through a set of various Committees of faculty members. Students are also encouraged to volunteer for some committees under the guidance of a competent faculty member. Ample opportunity is thus provided for talent to grow in cultural and other co-curricular activities.

Over a period of 45 years, the college has distinguished itself in diverse academic and professional fields by providing a vibrant and intellectually stimulating academic culture, to promote independence of thought and vision.
