FLAME – Foundation for Liberal and Management Education was founded in Pune, Maharashtra on 53 acres campus. It was awarded university status in 2015. The university has multiple foreign collaborations with institutes like Wellesley College, Kelley School of Business, Yale University, Babson College and Nuffield College, University of Oxford
The university offers UG programs like BA, BSC, BBA and PG programs like MBA and other executive education programs. For its MBA program it admits the students through various entrance tests like CAT/XAT/MAT and MAHCET.
The management institute was awarded “best B-School in the field of management” and “Dainik Bhaskar National Education Leadership Award”.
The mission of the university is “to give something back to society” and in the process become “university of choice for higher education in India”
The MBA is approved by AICTE and accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation) and accepted in CFA University Recognition Program.

How to apply?
To get admissions into the undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the Flame University, one has to avail the application form from their official website. The application form includes personal details, academic qualifications, a Statement of Purpose and information on extracurricular activities.
Upon submitting the completed form, the counsellors of the college will review it and invite the shortlisted candidates for the Flame Entrance Aptitude Test (FEAT), followed by Group Discussion and a personal interview round. Students who have taken up the SAT exam are exempted from the FEAT and are directly invited for GD-PI round.
For the MBA program, the form has to be filled in with personal details, academic records, extracurricular activities, work experience (If applicable) and a Statement of Purpose.
Admission procedure
The university uses the scores of CMAT / CAT / MAT / XAT / MH-CET / GMAT for shortlisting candidates. Following the submission of the application and valid score card, the selected candidates will be called in for a Group discussion and a personal interview round.
Hostel and Facilities
Accommodation
The university provides accommodation for boys and girls in the campus through double sharing rooms designed as apartments. There are west, east and north wings.
Each apartment is provided with an electronic safe and services are laundry are viable to the students. The housing area also has a well- equipped infirmary, provisional store and a Laundromat.
Other Facilities
The university offers a world class built campus with eateries like cafes, juice points, fast food area and a dining hall. Other than the lecture halls, there is a well-equipped Vivekananda library, recording studio, painting and sculpture studios, amphitheatres and a manmade lake- kund for the students.
The university campus also maintains open spaces like butterfly park, plaza, botanical garden etc. in the campus.
Sports Faculties
The campus has facilities for football, volley ball, basketball, golf, badminton and chess.

Eligibility
To pursue MBA at FLAME students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Admission Procedure
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
