The Sydenham Institute of management studies and research and entrepreneurship education traces back its roots to Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics started in 1913. It is one of the most reputed and popular commerce and economics college in India. It is affiliated to Mumbai University.

Application and Admission Procedure
Sydenham Institute of Management Studies and Research and Entrepreneurship Education is an AICTE approved institution based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was established in 1983 and has also been accredited by CRISILA and has been rated AAA+.
The institute offers the following programs. Details of the programs along with eligibility and application procedure are:
Masters of Management Studies (MMS)
Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in any stream with minimum 50% marks
Application/Admission process: Candidates are required to appear MH CET entrance examination or any equivalent entrance valid score CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT/. Final selection is done through CAP counselling process.
The same procedure also applies for PGDM. Both are 2 year courses.
For, Master’s Degree in Financial Management (MFM) and Master’s Degree In Marketing Management (MMM)
Eligibility: Graduate with minimum 2 years of work experience in relevant field
Application/Admission Process: The candidate must clear the MHT CET / CMAT / CAT / XAT / MAT exam and must score an aggregate of 50% mark in the exam. This will be followed by GD +PI.
The above two courses are of 3 Years Duration.
Hostel and Facilities
Sydenham Institute of Management Studies and Research and Entrepreneurship Education is situated in Mumbai and covers a large area.
This college provides hostel facility to the students who come from other parts of the country (other than Mumbai) and it serves this facility on first cum first serve basis. The hostel is situated just behind the college campus.
All rooms are spacious, well furnished and along with all basic amenities like 24 hours water, 24 hours electricity etc. Along with the hostel, there is a mess which serves fresh and healthy food. The entire college campus (including hostels) has good and fast internet accessibility.
The classrooms are large can accommodate a good number of students. Apart from this, the classrooms are well furnished and well equipped with all modern facilities like LCD projector etc.
Besides that, it also provides a well-equipped gym, ATM, extensive library, labs for different subjects. it also offers a health care services to the sick students. Both in-house and visiting faculty members are teaching here. Moreover, it has a good placement record.

To pursue MBA at SIMSREE students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
