Government Polytechnic Mumbai (GPM) is an autonomous institute of Government of Maharashtra. It was established in 1960 making it one of the oldest institutes in the region. Institute is located in Kherwadi, Bandra (East), Mumbai.

GPM provides diploma programs in engineering and technology. It is a public institute financially supported by the Government of Maharashtra. The institute is autonomous but maintains affiliation with the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE).

GPM offers AICTE-approved 3-year diploma sandwich programs. Available specializations include Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Leather Technology, Leather Goods and Footwear Technology, Rubber Technology and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The institute includes different facilities like laboratories, workshops, a language lab, internet access, scholarships, a books bank, a centralized library, reading rooms, a woman empowerment cell, a canteen and a playground.

Admission is through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) managed by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State.

Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated with Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). It has a good placement record - Over 50 companies participate during placement drives. Highest salary package recorded is INR 4.5 LPA.
