International Institute of Information Technology was founded in 1998, IIIT is an ICT Research University under the not for profit public private partnership model (N-PPP). It is AICTE approved and accredited grade A by NAAC. In 2011 Dataquest magazine ranked it among the top 5 overall and no. 1 in campus placements.

The institute offers B. Tech courses in-

  • Electronics and communication engineering.

Entry is based on an undergraduate engineering entrance examination and personal interview.

Besides all of the above, the institute also offers an M. Phil in Computational Linguistics and PhD programs in the fields of- Computer science and engineering, Civil engineering, Electronics and communication engineering, Computational Natural Sciences, Computational Linguistics, Bioinformatics, Information Technology in Power Systems, Spatial Informatics, Cognitive Science and Exact Humanities.

Institute facilities include the following facilities- Hostels for both boys and girls with laundry and dining services, Bank extension counter with ATM, stationery shop, library, Digi library, air conditioned computer laboratories, gymnasium, sports grounds.

Admission Procedure

The university offers a variety of UG and PG courses. In order to pursue any UG course, the candidate needs to appear for the university’s entrance exam followed by an interview conducted by the university.

The format of the entrance exam varies depending on the mode of admission that is –Olympiad mode, Special channel of admission, Direct admissions for student abroad (DASA) UGEE or PGEE. The JEE (main) score is an important gateway for the admission.

Hostel and Facilities

INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IIIT) HYDERABAD

IIIT Hyderabad covers an area of 27 hectares of land; the Institute is present in the area from where transport facilities are easily available. The campus has bank, ATM machines, post office, stationary shops and laundry services. There is a big and spacious library and also there is a digital library which serves the students and the teachers.

IIIT-H is a residential type Institute in which it is compulsory for the students to live within the campus. There are separate boys and girls hostel in the campus and also have a guest house. There are two hostels for boys and one for girls; the hostels have 24 hours net connectivity.

IIT H hosts T-hubs which is India’s biggest incubation center, which tries to provide a supportive environment. The campus has gym and medical facilities as well.

The institute initiates many cultural and athletic activities. It has clubs for dance, music, literature and singing. The students are divided in four houses named Agni, Vayu, Prithvi and Akash. Students also run a monthly newspaper named PING. The institute also conducts a cultural and annual event named ‘Felicity’.
