Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College is an institute run by the government of Himachal Pradesh and was established in 2006 under the affiliation of Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HimTU). It is approved by AICTE, New Delhi.

Hostel

The college hostel block is under construction and therefore accommodation for students is not available on campus at present. There are paying guest accommodations available nearby.

The college has a guest house with two guest rooms and the guest rooms are well furnished with attached baths. The guest rooms are available at a very nominal charge of Rs 100 per day.

Campus facilities

The central library of the college has 2050 books, subscriptions to 22 journals, 19 magazines and 7 newspapers. The digital library subscribes to online journals of ASTM, J-GATE and Springer. The digital library has 20 computers with internet access and it also has photocopy facilities.

The computer center has the latest configuration dual boot computer systems with internet connection speed of 100 Mbps. The center has been provided with 20 broadband connections under the NME scheme.
