Jorhat Engineering College is a government engineering college established in 1960 by Government of Assam. It is located in Jorhat.

The college is affiliated with Assam Science and Technology University. It offers five four-year undergraduate programs in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Mechanical Engineering. The college also provides master's degree programs in Computer Application, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering, along with PhD courses.

Jorhat Engineering College has a faculty-student ratio of nearly 3-7. It offers Bachelor in Engineering (B.Tech.) programs in five disciplines- Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering.

The college is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education. It ranked under top 100 engineering colleges in India by Dalal Street Investment Journal in 2010.

For admissions the college accepts the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education Assam. It also offers a Lateral Entrance Examination for students completing a 3-year Polytechnic Diploma to enter BE programs in 3rd semester.

The college provides many facilities, including a library, a central computer center and hostels. It has eight men's hostels and two women's hostels each overseen by a faculty superintendent. Each hostel includes a mess, dining facilities, common rooms, recreation rooms, a gym and internet access.

The college maintains international collaborations. It has established a Memorandum of Understanding with Bureau of Indian Standards for standardization and conformity assessment.

Jorhat Engineering College offers many placement opportunities. Prominent organizations, including PWD, Indian Railway, NRL and ONGC visit campus for internships and final placements.
