Mahatma Gandhi Institute Of Technology, Hyderabad (MGIT) Ranga Reddy

The Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) is situated in Hyderabad. The institute started in 1997 and was established by the Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Society. It is a private and unaided institute. 

MGIT is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) and received autonomous status from UGC in 2021-22.

MGIT offers multiple academic programs. It has a four-year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree available in eleven different disciplines. It also offers a two-year Master of Technology (M.Tech) in six disciplines. Primary degree at MGIT is B.Tech, which includes specializations like Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechatronics, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. 

Every year MGIT get 900 students for undergraduate courses and 100 students for postgraduate courses. The faculty comprises 163 members.

The institute provides different facilities. These include modern seminar halls, a technology center, sports facilities and a digital library.

Admission to the B.Tech program requires performance on the Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET). For M.Tech program candidates must take PGECET or GATE.

MGIT has received accreditation from National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for all B.Tech programs. It is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A++' grade.

Rankings - MGIT's B.Tech program is ranked 100 out of 170 colleges in India according to IIRF Ranking 2023. India Today ranked it #228 for overall performance in 2023.

MGIT has a strong placement record. The highest salary package offered to students is INR 70 LPA. Prominent recruiters include Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).
