Fee Structure of National Institute Of Technology (NIT) , Srinagar

1. Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students:

• Applicable to: Students who have scored more than 80% marks in Class XII and whose parental income is less than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum.
• Expenses covered: Rs. 10,000 per annum for undergraduate students and Rs. 20,000 per annum for postgraduate students.
• Eligibility: Based on merit and parental income.

1. Scholarships for Top Class Education for Students with Disabilities:

• Applicable to: Students with disabilities who have secured admission in NIT Srinagar or any other notified institution.
• Expenses covered: Tuition fees, books, stationery, computer, hostel fees, etc. up to Rs. 2 lakhs per annum.
• Eligibility: Based on disability status.

1. Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for RPF/RPSF:

• Applicable to: Wards or widows of ex-RPF/RPSF personnel who have secured admission in NIT Srinagar or any other professional degree course.
• Expenses covered: Rs. 2,250 per month for boys and Rs. 2,500 per month for girls.
• Eligibility: Based on family background.

1. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Minority Students:

• Applicable to: Students belonging to minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis) who have secured admission in NIT Srinagar or any other technical or professional course.
• Expenses covered: Tuition fees up to Rs. 20,000 per annum and maintenance allowance up to Rs. 10,000 per annum for hostellers and Rs. 5,000 per annum for day scholars.
• Eligibility: Based on minority community status.

1. Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC Students:

• Applicable to: Students belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories who have secured admission in NIT Srinagar or any other post-matriculation level course.
• Expenses covered: Tuition fees, maintenance allowance, books, stationery, etc., as per state government norms.
• Eligibility: Based on caste category.

Apart from these scholarships, NIT Srinagar also offers fee waivers to students whose parental income is less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum or between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 5 lakhs per annum. The fee waiver applies only to tuition fees.
