Fee Structure of Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Sivaganga

Alagappa University itself does not offer scholarships. But students can apply for scholarships offered by State Government, Central Government and NGOs.

1. Scholarship for SC/ST Fresh Students:

• Applicable to: Students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who have secured admission in any course of the university.
• Expenses covered: Tuition fees, special fees, maintenance allowance and other allowances.

1. Scholarship for SC/ST Renewal Students:

• Applicable to: Students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who have already availed the scholarship for SC/ST Fresh Students and are continuing their studies in the same course or a higher course of the university.
• Expenses covered: Tuition fees, special fees, maintenance allowance and other allowances.

1. BC/MBC/DNC Scholarship:

• Applicable to: Students belonging to Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities who have secured admission in any course of the university.
• Expenses covered: Tuition fees, special fees and maintenance allowance.

1. Tuition Fees Concession for all SC/ST Fresh Students:

• Applicable to: All students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who have secured admission in any course of the university.
• Expenses covered: Full tuition fees concession.

1. Merit Stipend to Top PG Students:

• Applicable to: Top three students in each postgraduate program based on academic performance.
• Expenses covered: Stipend of Rs. 1000 per month.

1. PMT & VOC Endowment Merit Scholarship:

• Applicable to: One student in each undergraduate program based on academic performance.
• Expenses covered: Scholarship of Rs. 5000 per year.

1. Earn While You Learn Scheme:

• Applicable to: All students.
• Details: Provides an opportunity for students to earn income by working part-time within the university.

1. Pre-Matric Scholarship:

• Applicable to: Students studying from class I to class X who belong to minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis).
• Expenses covered: Admission fees, tuition fees, maintenance allowance and other allowances.

1. Prize Schemes to the Students State Level Prizes: Awards prizes to students securing first, second and third ranks in state-level examinations conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu.
2. Perarignar Anna Memorial Award: Given to one student from each district who has secured the highest marks in Tamil language in the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu.
