Mahendra Institute Of Technology Namakkal

Mahendra Institute of Technology (MIT) is an autonomous engineering college established in 2007 by the Mahendra Educational Trust, situated on the Salem-to-Tiruchengode main road, about 25 km away from Salem, in the Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu. The institute is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and is approved by the AICTE.

The college has 12 departments that offer undergraduate courses like B.E. in various specializations, and postgraduate programs like M.E, MBA, and MCA. The vision of the college is to establish a Centre of Excellence in technical education, research and extension activities in order to create engineers and technologists to cater to the societal needs.

The admission into UG and PG programs is on the basis of merit marks scored in Class 12 and the candidate’s Bachelor’s degree respectively. The college will also view the candidate’s marks in the Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE) Exam, conducted by the state and central governments.

The campus offers its students numerous facilities, including a well-equipped library, accommodation for men and women, along with medical facilities, extensive sports facilities, complete Wi-Fi coverage, canteen, as well as a Grievances Redressal Cell.

Application and Admission Procedure

The candidates willing to take admission in the B.Tech courses must have secured 55% marks in the matriculation exam with Physics, chemistry and maths /biology subjects.

• Then make payment through Net Banking/Debit /Credit Card or DD drawn in favor of "The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, Anna University".
• The candidates need to send the filled in TNEA Application either in person or by post along with required the documents to the Secretary, TNEA, Anna University Chennai.

Hostel and Facilities

Hostel

Hostel facility is available within the campus of the college for boys and girls students. The hostel rooms consist of basic furniture. As the rooms in the hostel are very limited so the students get rooms on first come first serve basis.

Campus facility

Many campus facilities that are provided to the students include scholarships and awards, library, canteen, book store, transport, library, labs, and Grievances Redressal Cell.

There are variety of clubs and activities available at this institute for the students. Some of the clubs are Sports Club, Red Ribbon Club, Magazine Club, Photography Club, Go Green Club, Challenge Club, Rotaract Club, Language Club, Nature Club and many more.

The institute also organizes various competitions, events, workshops for students it include personality development workshop, quiz, game, ad zap etc.

Apart from this, the institute also organizes many fests for students like MITRECKO 16 the technical fest, XMPLARZ and Squadron.
