AboutVT Choksi Sarvajanik Law College:

Law College established in June 1935 and one among the few oldest law colleges, is a grant-in-aid institution offering 3-year LL.B. programme, leading to LL.B. (General) and LL.B. (Special) degrees. It is also a Post-Graduate (LL.M.) Centre in Law, providing extensive teaching in Law and Deviance (Criminal Law) subjects. It is permanently affiliated to the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University and is recognised and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of Gujarat. It has an Alumni Association with specific provision to associate current law students in its objective and activities. Large number of its past students are eminent advocates practising before the State and the Union Judiciary. Many of the alumni have adorned the Bench of the Supreme Court of India and several high courts, namely, Hon’ble Chief Justice A.M. Ahmedi, Hon’ble Justice D.A. Desai, and Hon’ble Justice D.C. Gheewala. Many have joined the district and the subordinate level judiciary and some of its students are pursuing advanced studies, in prestigeous law colleges/universities, abroad.

Admission Procedure

The LL.B. admission procedure is merit based, fair, open and transparent. The Rules and Regulations with regard to admissions as prescribed by the apex regulatory authorities namely the University, the Bar Council of India and the Government of Gujarat are scrupulously followed.

The LL.M. admissions are merit based centralized controlled and regulated by the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Law courses (LLB, integrated LLB) at Vt Choksi Sarvajanik Law College -

1) 3 year Law Degree Course - A candidate who has graduated in any discipline from a recognized University can appear for L.L.B. course

2) Integrated Degree Program - Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or an exam cosidered to be equivalnt to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam can enrol for integrated degree program (LLB and a first degree in any other subject).

Candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree after taking up other courses through distance mode are also considered eligible for integrated degree course. But those candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree through distance mode or from open universities without any basic qualification are not eligible for admission into law courses.

Minimum marks for admission into law courses -

1) 40% for SC/ST candidates

2) 45% for other candidates

Admission Procedure

Admission will be based on a CLAT (Combined Law Aptitude Test).
