The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is located in Vadodara. It was established in 1881 and became a university in 1949. It is a state public institute and it is approved by UGC.

This university offers multiple undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs across multiple faculties, including Engineering, Science, Arts and Commerce. There are 111 departments split across 14 faculties and additional colleges and institutes. Student body comprises over 46,000 students supported by more than 1450 teaching staff.

Facilities include 16 hostels, sports grounds, a health center, auditoriums, seminar halls and gardens.

The university accepts scores from different entrance exams for admissions. GUJCET scores are used for undergraduate engineering and pharmacy courses. For postgraduate courses, scores from CMAT, CAT, GATE, GPAT and NEET PG are considered.

The university holds an 'A+' grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. In NIRF Rankings 2023 it was placed 101st overall.
