Fee Structure Of GCECT, Kolkata-Government College Of Engineering And Ceramic Technology

The Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology (GCECT), located in Salt Lake City, Kolkata, is a government-funded academically autonomous institute established in 1941. It is affiliated to Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology, and was previously known as the College of Ceramic Technology (CCT). It is approved and accredited by the AICTE as well as the NBA and NAAC.

The college has 4 departments, and offers B. Tech, M. Tech and Ph.D. courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as various other programs.

The college campus remains limited, with no hostel availability (students must lodge themselves in surrounding PGs), but offers facilities such as state-of-the-art laboratories, well-equipped library, air-conditioned conference room, auditorium, cafeteria and sports complex.

The admission into UG programs is on the basis of merit marks scored in Class 12^thas well as scoring on the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). Admission into PG programs is based on applicant’s Bachelor’s degree and scoring on the GATE exam.

How to apply?

To be eligible for UG and PG programmes, the candidates have to secure at least 45% in general category while for reserved candidates, a score of 40% is mandatory.

The application process is as follows:

• Online mode: The candidates can apply for the interested course online by filling the application form on the institute’s official website. The application fee is Rs.500/- and needs to be paid in the college’s account section.
• Offline mode: The candidates can also take the application form in the college and pay the application fee of Rs.500/- in the college’s account section.

Documents required:

• Passport size photographs
• Marks memo of 10^th and 12^th grade
• WBJEE/JEE MAIN/ GATE score card, as applicable

Admission Procedure

In the UG Programme, for admission into B.E/B.Tech, WBJEE or JEE MAIN scores are mandatory. For lateral entry students, JELET score is mandatory.

In the PG Programme, for admission into M.Tech, GATE score is mandatory.

Hostel and Facilities

Hostel:

The campus is well built and secure. It has two playgrounds and a gymnasium. There is a boy’s hostel available with all basic facilities. One more hostel building is underway.

Wifi is available on campus and inside the hostel. There is a good canteen which serves nutritious and hygienic food. The hostel rooms have basic furniture and are regularly cleaned. Medical care is given to students.

PG rooms are also available nearby.

Other facilities:

The college has a library, a computer centre, 3 main laboratories, music room and indoor game rooms.

It keeps organising technical workshops and programmes for the skill development of students.

The Students Welfare Association is responsible for the organisation of celebration of festivals, sports events and the annual JAGRITI and KARMATEK fests. The students can also take part in the Quiz, Debate and Dance clubs.

The NSS recruits can take part in the social work as well.
