Derozio Memorial College, a premier college of West Bengal was established in 1996 and it is affiliated with West Bengal State University. The College is also providing immense opportunities of higher education to a large number of rural and urban students, a substantial number of which belongs to schedule castes, other disadvantaged and marginalized section of the society. It is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with B grade.
