Chakdaha College, Chakdaha Nadia

Chakdaha College affiliated to the University of Kalyani was born on the 21st of November, 1972 in the cradle of suburban Bengal and has grown over the years into a leading and prestigious UG academy Teaching Hons and General courses in Humanities, Science and Commerce subjects. By its academic discipline and a sustained record of toppers in almost all Hons courses it attracts and caters to the best budding talents of not only Chakdaha township but also of a vast hinterland that cuts across Nadia and other surrounding districts.

Achievement and Excellence

Over the years this college has been nurturing a blend of academic excellences and extracurricular achievements, high order of teaching and infrastructural development, in virtuoso. It is on record that the best of our alumni went abroad to enter the highest echelons of study and research, and a large of part of them is now placed in teaching positions of higher education. The best athletes produced by this college won national acclaim and even Arjun Award. From the playground of this college, athletes (in handicapped section) were sent to international sports meet at Busan (South Korea) and Malayasia, and they won distinction there. Performance of the college has even attracted campus selection – a phenomenon not very characteristic of non professional academics. Alongside Hons and General Degree courses, UGC sponsored Remedial Coaching and Entry in Services for SC/ST/OBC/Minority students, UGC-NRC, Career & Counselling are conducted on a regular basis.The college has been a Study Centre of Netaji Subhash Open University since 1998 a centre where UG and PG course in different subjects are conducted providing space for students who have dropped out of regular academic streams.
