Presidency University Kolkata

Presidency University is located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It is a state public university established in 1817.

 The university has 17 departments that offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Arts and Science. It provides Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Science (MSc) degrees. The university also offers PhD programs.

As of 2023 the university employs 200+ academic staff and has a total student population of 3,000. The university includes a library, modern classrooms, labs, medical facilities, a gymnasium and IT infrastructure. It provides Wi-Fi and transport facilities as well.

Admittance to undergraduate programs is through Presidency University Bachelor Degree Entrance Test (PUBDET). Postgraduate admissions are based on Presidency University Master Degree Entrance Test (PUMDET). Both tests are conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB).

Presidency University holds an 'A' grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has recognition as an "Institution of National Eminence" by University Grants Commission (UGC). In 2020, it ranked 151 out of 200 institutes in India according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

The university has collaborations with over 65 institutes in 22 countries for academic and research purposes. 

Placements - Companies like HSBC, EY, KPMG and Capgemini recruit from this university. Salary packages range from 5.5 LPA to 8 LPA.
