GMERS Medical College Himmatnagar was established by Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society in 2014. The college is affiliated with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan. It is approved by the Medical Council of India and the National Medical Commission.

Campus covers over 40 acres. The college offers a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program which lasts 5 years and 6 months including a 6-month internship period. The program began with its first batch in August 2014. The college accommodates 150 MBBS students.

It has a boys hostel, a girls hostel, a health center, a library, sports infrastructure, IT facilities, a cafeteria and an auditorium.

Candidates must have 10+2 with 50% aggregate marks to be eligible for the MBBS program. Admission is based on National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
