Government Engineering College Chaibasa West Singhbhum

Government Engineering College Chaibasa (GECC) is located in Chaibasa. It started operations in 2013. The Government of Jharkhand established this college. The Techno India Group manages it. College spans 40 acres. GECC focuses on engineering and natural sciences.

The college offers a Bachelor of Technology degree in five disciplines. These are Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering.

The student population is over 750. GECC is affiliated with Jharkhand University of Technology. It has recognition from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and has National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for 2021-22 and 2022-23.

The college has a big library with different engineering books. Hostel accommodations exist on campus with separate facilities for girls and boys. 

Admission to the B.Tech program relies on scores from the JCECE Exam. This is a state-level entrance test conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB).

In 2020 NIRF Innovation rankings college ranked between 6-25 for overall performance. In 2017 college received a joint financial grant from World Bank and Ministry of Human Resource Development for Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (Phase III).
