Why MINING ENGINEERING?

Mining Engineers ensure that underground resources such as minerals, metals, oil and gas can be extracted safely and efficiently. They are expected to assess the feasibility and the potential for commercial benefits of new mining sites. They need to ascertain extraction risks to minimize loss.

Students of Mining Engineering are taught how to cope up with the mineral demands and how to mine them in an efficient, sustainable, and economical manner. There are also various specializations in this course like ventilation, engineering structures, environmental aspects of mining, rock mechanics, industrial management, etc.

The colleges charge a fee ranging from INR 2-10 Lakhs. Some of the top colleges offering this course are-

Mining engineers are offered jobs in various fields like- engineering, constructing, exploration, operations, metallurgy, and human resources. Their job can be both indoor and outdoor. A mining engineer works for around 40 hours in a week.
