Kurukshetra University, located in the historical city of Kurukshetra in Haryana was established on 11 January, 1957. The university was an idea of the then Governor of Punjab, C.P Narayan Singh who was a Sanskrit scholar and it was inaugurated by President Doctor Rajendra Prasad. The University is enshrined with the motto “yogastha kuru karmāṇi” meaning (Yogastha: = establish in yoga, Kuru = perform, karmaani = duties or action).

The university is spread in an area of 400 acres. The university departments are affiliated to UGC, AICTE, ACU and NAAC. The University affiliates 457 colleges the remarkable ones being-

• Jind Institute of Engineering and Technology
• Shri Krishan Institute Of Engineering & Technology

The Library is one of the most richest and vast in Haryana, with over 10 lakh books and 37 lakh printed papers/resources/books/journals.

The University also has dedicated departments for sports, NCC/NSS and various other cultural extracurricular activities.

There are many hostels for domestic and international students. Separate hostels for boys and girls with the modern amenities are provided by the University making it an excellent place for living and learning.

Application and Admission Procedure

KU offers a large number of UG/PG courses. The fee of the application form including the fee of Entrance Exam is as follows:

For one subject: Rs.600 for General candidates and Rs.150 for SC/ST/BC/Blind/candidates of Haryana. Two subjects: RS.300 (Rs. 75 for SC/ST/BC/ Blind/ Candidates of Haryana) needs to be paid for each additional course.

For more than four subjects: the candidates have to pay Rs.600 (Rs.150 for SC/ST/BLIND) for each course.

But for MBA and M.Com only one application form is submitted. B.Tech admissions are done on the basis of JEE mains score.

HOW TO APPLY:

The application forms can be filled through online mode only.

• Candidates need to go through all the instructions before filling the application form.
• Then the candidates need to fill in all the basic details in the application form.
• Then upload the scanned copy of all the required documents.
• And make the payment.

The admissions are done on the basis of the score of the Entrance Test and Personal interview. The admit card for the Entrance exam can be downloaded from the official website. On the basis of the score in the test the candidates are given admissions.

a. The Kurukshetra University provides hostels for the students.

a. The hostel facility is available for both girls and boys students.

b. All the rooms have modern furniture, internet connectivity and security.

c. Hostel accommodation is available for everyone as it is based on first come first serve basis.

d. Amount of the scholarship offered:

The Kurukshetra University provides scholarships to the students whose financial background is weak. Students can apply for the scholarship and after the verification of all the documents university will give the scholarship to eligible students only.
