BFUHS offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and PhD programs in Health Sciences. Popular programs include MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm, B.Sc. and MD The university consists of 6 faculties covering Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Nursing Sciences, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy and Homeopathy.

Admissions to most courses are based on NEET entrance exams. For MBBS and BDS admission relies on NEET UG scores. B.Sc., B.Pharm, M.Pharm and MPT admissions depend on merit from last qualifying examination. PhD candidates must take PMNET entrance exam.
The university ranks 303rd in India and 5808th globally in 2024 rankings. It is ranked 71 for Physiotherapy by IIRF 2023.
BFUHS collaborates internationally and serves as International Training Center for American Heart Association.
