Founded by Dr. Ashok Chitkara and Dr. Madhu Chitkara in year 2010, Chitkara University is located in Rajpura Punjab and is one of the leading universities in the state. It is a private university approved by UGC, NAAC, Indian Nursing Council and NCHMCT. With its strong focus on excellence in education, the university attracts a large number of foreign students every year. The university has two campuses – one in Punjab and the other one in Himachal Pradesh.
Reservations – The university has reserved 15% of its seats for the students from Punjab.

The university offers under-graduate, post-graduate and doctoral programs in various disciplines like Engineering, Business, Nursing, Hospitality and Hotel management, Journalism and mass communication. The admission process entirely online. The university accepts scores of exams like JEE, GATE, CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT and NATA for admission into engineering, management courses.

Application and Admission Procedure
Interested candidates can avail the application form from the official website or download the form or can obtain it from the campus / University office. Payment of Rs.1100/- can be made through online, in person or by drawing demand draft in favour of Chitkara University, payable at Chandigarh.
The form should be duly filled in with all details and submitted along with copies of:
- 10+2 marksheets
- Graduation marksheets (for PG)
- Aadhar card
- Rank card of the qualifying entrance test
- Medical fitness certificate
- Character certificate(available on the website)
- Transfer certificate
Admissions into the Engineering undergraduate courses selects students based on their JEE-Mains score while for the rest of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, students are selected based on a personal interview round. MBA selections require score of MAT / XAT / CMAT / CAT / NMAT or the Chitkara University Test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
The Chitkara residence has separate girls and boys hostel. There are wardens and tight security made available at these hostels in order to provide a pleasant stay so that students can focus on their academics. Hostel common rooms are equipped with TV, indoor games and other recreational facilities. Internet and STD facilities are also available.
Medical Facilities
The university works in tie with hospitals in case of emergency situation and provide comprehensive medical insurance to its students.
Other Facilities
The campus has cafeteria whose menu is designed by dieticians and offer a nutritious- wholesome meals. Mid night snacks are also available.
There are two banks; Punjab National Bank (PNB) and UCO Bank with ATM within the campus.
The University has a collection of over 58,000 books, journals, audio-visuals, CD-ROMs etc. It also has video conferencing facility.
Besides this, the students can avail the library facilities, computing facilities and high-tech laboratories having equipment’s with calibrations to ISO 9001- 2000 Certifications.

Remarks
The college is one of the best colleges and I had spent the best years of my life. Though management should provide more freedom to students so that they can explore their potential and explode the hidden talents they have. Also the faculty of the college is a bit bias towards top ranking students.
Entrance Exam
The college accept students based on the JEE main score. Also called for a casual interview I got admitted based on my JEE main score and had also appeared for the interview and then got admission into the college.
Fees
the fee structure is manageable and the best part is that we have to pay twice every year that is each semester. Also the students who cannot afford the fee, the college has tie ups with various banks who offer Education Loan at low interest
Placements
over 90% of the students were placed in my bag with an average package of about 3.5 lacs. A lot of companies come for placement during my time over 200 companies came for the placement season. Also not only technical but also non-technical companies come to her which is a good part as the student gets a lot of options as well as exposure
Hostel and Facilities
the fee of the hostel is around one lakh per year. The mess food is great and the facilities provided by the hostel are ok. Events are also provided in the hostel. The the management cares for students security guards and cameras all over the place.
Alumni
all of my seniors were very helpful and eager to help us. That moves there was very competitive and thus motivated students to work harder. There was no ragging of any Junior and the management make sure of this.
Faculty
Understanding and extra emphasis on students specially for weak students. They did not pressurise any student to get high marks and always guided them towards their own path be it academic or extra curricular activities. The college also has a good exam structure.
Campus Life
Campus life of Chitkara University what's the best there are a lot of there were a lot of extra curricular activities for which I could participate and excel in. College is very disciplined and we even have uniforms. The college believes in extra curricular activities and sports and does have a sports event every year there a lot of students participate and more are encouraged to participate every year.
Academics
the college does not provide enough amount of time to students. There is a mix of both internal and external exams and the internal exams carry 40% weight with final exams at the end carrying a weight loss of 60%
Internships
Yes the college provide internship and that to which the stipend provided is very good and ranges from rupees 5000- rupees 20000.
Loans and Scholarships
college of a scholarship to deserving students. Students who are academic list wrong or are financially poor offered close to our up to 100% scholarship. Also the college keeps on extending the fee submission date which is good for students who cannot be on time due to any reason
Remarks
Overall its good but they seek money and they impose fines a lot whether its uniform or any other they are strict in these cases. There are a lot of facilities provided by the college
Entrance Exam
I got admission therough my JEE marks. This is the college which has excelled so much in education and has high record of placements with excellent faculty
Fees
The fee of the college was manageable for but i cannot speak for everybody. I do not belong to a very rich family and even for me the fee was affordable. Also the college offers scholarships to deserving students.
Placements
Placements are good but the problem is the strength of students are increased each year causing problem for the placement to many students.Lot of companies come whether they are product or service based companies but due to increase in strength its difficult to manage and dont allow to sit in more then one company if the package is not double
Hostel and Facilities
Though i was not staying in the hostel but i had a few friends who were staying and i dont think they had any issues there other wise they would have mentioned that. i dont think they had any issues there other wise they would have mentioned that. But they always complained about the hostel food.
Alumni
Senior students are always helpful and even after passing out college we all meet with same respect and it is good to old mates and seniors .
Faculty
The faculty of the college is the best i could have asked for. Teachers here are very caring and treat you just like their own child literally
Campus Life
Overall it is very goodLot of facilites are there and still lot are going to be for the comping years. Lot of activites whether technical or non technical or soft skills all are taken care before the placements start.
Academics
No college dont provide internship they instead provide foreign exchange programs with other colleges of different countries for which you need to pay for different exchange programs according to which you wanna go.
