Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology is a private institute of technology which was established in the year 1979. The parent institution is Sri Siddhartha Education Society. It has nine undergraduate departments with the intake of 650 students and eight branches in the postgraduate category with an intake of 173 students.

It has been accredited and approved by AICTE and NBA. It is affiliated to the Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education. The institute is located in Tumkur, Karnataka, India. The main motto of the institute is to provide education to the student community from the rural and the backward areas.

The campus is spread over 65 acres of land across the Kunigal Road, Tumkur which is 5 km from the Tumkur city bus stand and four km from the railway station. The campus accommodates all the infrastructure like central library, scholar blocks, postgraduate blocks, hostels, camps, seminar halls, conference rooms, labs, and so on.

Application and Admission Procedure

Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology is a technical education institute established under the aegis of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, which is a deemed University. All the Institute courses offered in the institute are approved and recognised by AICTE. It was founded in the year 1979 and is located in Tumkur, Karnataka.

SSIT offers the following educational programmes-

B.Tech (4 Years)

  • The admission process is done on the basis of the qualifying scores obtained in KCET
  • Eligibility: (10+2) or Equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Biotechnology, Language and another subject and should have scored a minimum of 45% marks. SC/ST students have a 5% relaxation in minimum aggregate

M.Tech (2 Years)

• • Computer-Aided Design of Structures | Product Design and Manufactures | Thermal Power Engineering | VLSI Design & Embedded System | Computer Applications in Industrial Drives | Digital Electronics | Computer Science and Engineering
  • Admissions are made on the basis of qualifying scores in Karnataka PGCET
  • Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering discipline obtained through the 10+2+4 system or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 55% or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India. A Relaxation of 5% aggregate is there for SC/ST candidates

MCA (3 Years)

• Admissions are done on the basis of Karnataka PGCET
• Eligibility: Graduation in any stream forms the basic eligibility for MCA along with Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 Level

Hostel and Facilities

The institute has separate boy and girl’s hostel; there are 2 hostels in the campus and 1 outside the campus. The environment of the hostel is peaceful and it is filled with greenery all around. The hostels can easily accommodate 750 students.

Cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the hostel and the mess serves healthy food. The hostel provides 24 hours water and electricity supply.

There is a big library in the campus and also there is sports and recreation centre for the students to promote their talents. There are well furnished health centers and a canteen which can accommodate over 150 students.

There is a bank, post office, stationary and net café so that the students can carry out their academics with ease. A guest house is also available for the parents who come to visit their children.
