GSVM Medical College, Kanpur is also known as Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College. It was established in 1955.

GSVM Medical College operates as a government institute. It is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Kanpur. This college was first medical college to be established in Uttar Pradesh since independence.

The college provides different courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and super specialty levels. Flagship course is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Other programs include MD, MS, DM, MCh, Diploma, BSc Nursing, Post Basic BSc Nursing and MSc Nursing.

Each batch of MBBS students consists of 250 individuals.

It has a large campus that includes main medical college building and a teaching hospital. Additional facilities on campus include staff quarters, hostels for resident doctors, boys and girls and a playground.
