Scholarships

Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Research Scholarship:

Awarded to PhD scholars working on various aspects of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj, the former ruler of Kolhapur and a social reformer.
Duration: Maximum three years.

Ramanujan PhD Teaching Assistantship Scheme:

For PhD scholars willing to teach undergraduate or postgraduate students of the university.
Assistantship amount: Rs. 25,000 per month for non-NET qualified scholars and Rs. 31,000 per month for NET qualified scholars.
Duration: Maximum five years.

Radhakrishnan PhD Scholarship Scheme:

For PhD scholars pursuing research in humanities and social sciences.
Scholarship amount: Rs. 18,000 per month for non-NET qualified scholars and Rs. 21,000 per month for NET qualified scholars.
Duration: Maximum three years.

Need-based Scholarships:

For economically weaker students.
Tuition fee waiver: 25% to 50% based on annual household income.
Eligibility: Income certificate approved by Tehsildar or Magistrate required.

More Details -

To apply for the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Research Scholarship, scholars must have a master's degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
To apply for the Ramanujan PhD Teaching Assistantship Scheme or the Radhakrishnan PhD Scholarship Scheme, scholars must have cleared the entrance test and interview conducted by the university.

The university has six on-campus hostels with a total capacity of 1114 seats. Two of these are boys' hostels, namely Shivaji and Swarn Jayanti and four are girls' hostels, namely Ganga, Triveni, Saraswati and Kaveri.

The hostel rooms are available as two-seater and three-seater rooms. The fee structure for the hostels is as follows-

The hostels provide facilities like a mess facility that provides four meals a day, Wi-Fi, newspapers, 24-hour electric power, 24-hour security, first-aid and ambulance facility, R.O. drinking water, housekeeping facility for 365 days and recreational and sports activities.
