Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University is located at Allahabad in the state Uttar Pradesh. It is a public university, which has been named after Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tandon. It is UGC approved.
The distance university offers quality education to the students enrolled in the university.
The university has a huge library, which was founded in the year 2000. The Library holds the collection on different streams of Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and developing Sciences. The library consists of many books, newspapers, journals and periodicals.
The library is accessible to the outsiders of the institution too; hence the library is quite famous in Uttar Pradesh. There are separate reading rooms for faculty members, Students and research scholars. The library of the institute has newly opened a branch library, known as Regional library at Allahabad Regional centre.

Application and Admission Procedure
How to Apply
The application process of UPRTOU is a combination of both online and offline. Candidates need to visit the official website of the University and go to the admission portal.
Once there, they will have to fill in the form by providing their personal and educational details. Once that has been done candidates need to pay the registration fee of INR 1000 (INR 550 for SC/ST) via online mode that is through credit/debit card and net banking.
Once the entire process has been done candidates need to take a print out of the entire from and submit it to any of the study centres.
Admission Procedure
The admission criterion varies across courses and programmes. Admission to the MBA, MCA and B.Ed programs is granted on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the National level Entrance Examinations conducted by the University.
For rest of the programs, admissions are done on the basis of merit in the pre-qualifying examination.
