Chaiduar College Gohpur was founded in 1967. It is a government college affiliated with Gauhati University.

Chaiduar College offers many academic programs across three main streams. Arts Stream provides subjects like Assamese, Education, Political Science, English, History, Economics, Bodo and Mathematics. Science Stream includes Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Mathematics and Economics. In commerce stream it offers courses in Accountancy, Finance, Human Resource Management and Marketing Management. The institute also provides two-year Higher Secondary Courses for Arts and Science.

The intake capacity is 70 for Commerce 200 for Arts and 100 for Science in the Higher Secondary Course. For entry into honours courses students must complete an entrance test.
