Christian College, Chengannur Alappuzha

Christian College, Chengannur is owned and managed by the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church and is affiliated to the University of Kerala.
Founded in 1964 by Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Athanasius, Christian College, Chengannur towers high as a centre of excellence in education on a hill top with pristine beauty.
The college always had its focus on academic excellence, formation of character, emphasis on spread of spiritual truth and trust in god so as to produce intellectually well-trained, morally upright, socially conscious and spiritually inspired young men and women.
The aim of the college is to provide higher education in Arts & Science of the highest standard encouraging sound learning, building up character and upholding moral and spiritual values. Creation of employment oriented skills is an additional goal.
The college now has grown in to a full-fledged temple of learning with graduate courses in Botany, Chemistry, Economics, English, History, Mathematics , Physics & Zoology and post graduate courses in Analytical Chemistry, Economics, English & Physics .
The coat of arms of college reflects the task the college assigns to itself. The motto on the crest, “Our utmost for the Highest” shows the real aim of the college. The college strives to inculcate values like compassion, kindness, gentleness and humanity among the students. Along with curricular progression of students an equal emphasis is also given to ensure development of extra curricular skill of students.
