Motihari College of Engineering (MCE) is located in Motihari. It is a government-funded institute established in 1980. Department of Science and Technology Government of Bihar initially set up college. Its original name was Indian College of Engineering (ICE), which the Bihar government took over in 1986. Campus is 48 acres in size.

MCE is a college affiliated with Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU). All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) approves it. College offers B.Tech degrees in Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. An M.Tech program in Computer Science & Engineering started in July 2020.

MCE provides many facilities including a gymnasium and a computer center with nearly 150 internet-connected computers. Hostel accommodations are available for both boys and girls.

The college accepts scores from the Bihar Combined Competitive examination for admissions. While MCE is approved by AICTE, it lacks explicit accreditations from NIRF, NAAC, UGC, Bar Council of India or MCI.
