Marian Engineering College (MEC) Thiruvananthapuram

The Marian Engineering college was founded in 2001 under the aegis of University of Kerala and APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. It has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It is located in Trivandrum in the state of Kerala, India.

It is spread across a lush green campus of 40 acres near Menamkulam Gardens in the vicinity of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Techno Park, Kinfra Apparels and other renowned institutions.

The campus provides futuristic and modern infrastructure to all the students. The institute is a pioneer in providing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in technical education. Various departments in the institute are

Marian Engineering College is a private engineering college situated in Thiruvanthanpuram, Kerala. It featured in 49^th position in the Kerala Technological University results 2015. It has been approved by the AICTE and is affiliated to Kerala University.

Admission Process: Candidates must be passed in Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or an examination recognized equivalent thereto with at least 45 % in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry / equivalent subjects put together or equivalent grade or as prescribed by the APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University.

Admissions are conducted through CEE Kerala by holding the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) Examination.

Admission Process: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering discipline obtained through the 10+2+4 system or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 55% or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India.

Admissions are strictly conducted on the basis of GATE scores.

Hostel and Facilities

Marian Engineering College is situated in between NH47 and Arabian sea side. It covers up a large area of 27 acres. This college is surrounded by beautiful landscape.

Hostel Facility

There are separate hostels for boys and girls along with mess and dining halls. Both girls and boys hostels are managed by Rev. sisters and Priests respectively. The hostel rooms are spacious, airy and well maintained.

Each room has separate space for living as well as for studying. All rooms have accessibilities of all basic amenities such as electricity, water internet etc. the hostel mess provides good healthy food. Apart from that, there is a canteen which also provides snacks.

Other facilities:

This engineering college has a separate restroom and a recreation centre along with many indoor game facilities like carom board, table tennis etc. Besides that, it provides some outdoor sports facilities too. It has its own football team, cricket team who take part in various inter-college competition throughout the country.

The class rooms are large enough to accommodate sizeable number of students. All the class rooms are well maintained, clean and have modern facilities. Apart from this, it a large library which has vast collections and well-organized labs too. This college conducts many extracurricular activities like cultural fest etc inside the college campus. It also provides good internship opportunities to its students.
