PET Engineering College, Thanjavur was established by Popular Educational Trust in September 28, 1998. The trust came into existence in 1996 and is completely devoted to imparting world class technical education to youth of the country. It is situated at a 57 acre area on Vallioor – Tiruchendur Highway, 3 Km from the town of Vallioor. Its nearest Railway station Vallioor is 3km away.

Therefore, it is the vision of the Popular Education Trust to reach out, to the best of its ability, to impart world class technical education with stress on moral and social values to the youth of our nation in order for them to be able to face the challenges of the future. And our mission is to endeavor to achieve excellence in technical education and to develop PET Engineering College into a modern center of technical education with the best available faculty, infrastructure and equipment.

PET Engineering College, Tirunelveli was established in 1998, is a well-developed institution offering a variety of programs in technical education. The College is an ISO 9001-2008 certified institution. PET Engineering College is approved by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) New Delhi, recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to the Anna University. It seeks to impart Technical Education of a high caliber to meet the growing needs of Engineers and Entrepreneurs in business and industry.
