The Government Engineering College, Bilaspur, provides technical education since 1964. It is a government institute affiliated with Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approves college.

College offers seven undergraduate BE and BTech courses. These include Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications, Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology.

The college has two boys' hostels and two girls' hostels with a capacity of 100 each. The hostels include reading rooms, gymnasiums, TV rooms and dining halls. Additional facilities include a library, internet access, sports facilities and a medical facility with an MBBS practitioner.
